Baby Girl Cady | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Wellllll, here we are again with a little blog post of a tiny one that I had the pleasure of photographing as she made  her way into this world. I was originally going to try out studio lights with Little Miss Cady, but after the long drive to get to her shoot I chickened out on using studio lights and just went with natural night *hides face in shame*. Anyway, Cady slept sooooo well during her shoot……..even through all of her darling outfit changes. LOL!

Her original due date was on the 4th of July, but she came a tad early. Love her little red, white, and blue romper!

Sweet little details

Baby Girl Chloé | Cumming Newborn Photographer

Pretty excited about this baby girl because I thiiiiink she might be growing up in front of my lens!:)I mean, I’ve done maternity, birth, and now her newborn pics. I think she’s a fan of the camera just as long as she can stay awake. Luckily, this would be the only shoot that would require her to sleep because Little Miss Chloé likes to be in the know (wiiiide awake). LOL!

& Ahhh…my recent moms have gotten away with not being in these shots. I’m going to have to start back insisting. Lol! JK…sorta!

I finally woooon! She fell asleep for a millisecond!;)

Baby Girl Blaire | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

So a few weeks ago I decided that I was sick and tired of the rain and cloudy days. I wasn’t loving the horrible available light. I was thinking that maybe I should take a little power from Mother Nature, and give studio light a shot, specifically for little tiny ones. Jae responded to my cry, and was all game for her sweet baby girl Blaire being my newborn model.:)

I love love love these, but I’m definitely not ready to ditch my beloved natural light. The main reason is because as you all know (or you will know if you’re interested in a shoot), I do not have a studio. I lug all of my gear from home to home. I’ve had clients tell me how much they prefer this for newborn shoots, but it is a lot to tote around and using studio lights just added to my luggage…thanks to Jae and her mom for helping this bag lady out a bit! I guess each shoot will just vary according to the weather. Anywhoooo, take a look at the itty bitty model!

She wasn’t a huge fan of falling asleep outside of her mommy’s arms, but I won…for a bit.

Sometimes I just can’t choose if I adore color or black and white!

Angelia Beaumont - adorable! great shots!

Happy Birthday to the most amazing person I know!

That amazing person happens to be MY mommy! I’m always on a social network talking about how much my mom means to me, and I don’t mean to gloat or be annoying, but I just love and appreciate my mom SO SO SO very much. So often we see people running to their social networks to vent about their parents or giving them credit only on special occasions. I know that each day we have with our loved ones is a blessing, and I do not take that for granted. Is every day perfect with us? Uh. NO! but there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t end with … “I love you, mom.”

Anyway, I’m going to try not to sit here and sob or write a book about my mom, but I just want to acknowledge her birthday on my small space on the web. My mom has been through SO much in life that when her book comes out, I’m sure she’ll be a top seller (Go, mom!). I’m always extremely thankful on her birthday that God has given her the strength another year to continue being the “hard fighting soldier on this battlefield” that she is!

I’m excited to see what this year has in store for you, my love!

SN: These are the pictures I took for my mom’s audition. She just needed a headshot, but we turned it into a little mini shoot.;)

Baby Chloé’s Birth Story | Augusta Birth Photographer

You might remember a few of these faces from a maternity shoot I shared a few months back. If you didn’t check that shoot out, Casey is one of my closest friend’s sister. Chloé  is  was the little lady in waiting. I had absolutely noooo idea that Casey was interested in birth pictures. I’ve been trying not to put any pressure on any of my friends or their family in regards to birth photography so I’m not even sure that I ever asked. So again, I was shocked and thrilled when Ciera called and asked if I’d take these pictures for her sister. I believe my response was, “Wait. CASEY’S IN LABOR?! OF COOOOURSE, I’ll do it!!!! PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS IS WHAT SHE WANTS!!!” Chloé decided to make her grand entrance into this world a tad earlier than we’d all expected.

Now, I’m learning more and more that EVERY. SINGLE. EXPERIENCE. will be different. These experiences through photography have truly changed my outlook on life in so many ways. Prior to this day, I witnessed 4 precious babies come into this world. Besides intense pain and pressure at times, they’ve all gone pretty smoothly. I thought…”I could pretty much deliver a baby myself at this point”, but boy was I wrong. It’s not that I didn’t know this all along, but being there for this birth truly made me realize that if nothing else, we should always honor and respect our mothers. From day one a mother makes sacrifices for her baby, even if she doesn’t realize she is. We should appreciate our lives and new life because it is just so so sooo precious. Without going into TOO much detail, I’ll just say that I’m really thankful that Casey had the doctor she had because things did not go according to “plan”, but her doctor remained calm, delivered Casey’s baby via c-section instead of the plan that started out that day, and saved Casey’s life. Wait. Let me give Chloé credit as well. The doctor said that “Chloé’s refusal to come through pushing saved Casey’s life. Had she been delivered as planned, Casey wouldn’t have made it.” The doctors thought that they would have to resuscitate the baby when she made it here, but she came out perfect.:)What an amazing birth story that Casey and Chloé will always have. Little angel baby.

Yep. She was born on THE 4th of July. “Doodle Bug”. So glad they decided against changing her middle name to something related to the holiday. LOL!

HUGE contractions. We were minutes away from “show time”.

Lol! I just love Mrs. Sally!

Ciera’s such a nurturing and supportive sister and friend. Nope, can’t tell at all that she’s working in the medical field. LOL!

Tron’s mom (one of Chloé’s grandmothers) waiting anxiously & Tron catching up on sleep.

So ready to love on her granddaughter. So sweet!

It was time….

As scared as everyone became…Casey’s support system tried not to let her see any type of panic and kept holding her hand and telling her all of the things she needed to hear at the time.

The last picture I got before things got to the point where I had to stop taking pictures and Casey had to be taken away to deliver the baby through c-section.

A little while later,…in walks this proud dad.
I hate that I don’t have any more pictures from this special day with Casey in them, but I am very happy that she can experience those first moments that everyone saw her baby girl through these photos.

Kisses anyone?

Look at these looks. PURE LOVE.

The woman that came in on her anniversary to MAKE SURE that Casey had a safe delivery. I know this family is forever grateful.

aaaand a few newborn shots.

Sally Garrison Slaughter - I can’t believe how beautiful and well put together you’ve made these. Actually I can, it’s you of course that took these : ) What I am actually trying to say is, you have done a phenomenal job, you captured the moment exactly as it was. This moment will live on forever, thanks to you and your amazing talent.
