Graduation Shoot | Atlanta Photographer

I’m like a month (or two) late on this post, but this is certainly a blog worth sharing – late or not! My beautiful little cousin (always my little cousin even if you’re absolutely grown now – HA!) graduated this year, and of course I shot her graduation pictures. I laughed throughout the entire shoot because her baby girl is SOOOOOMETHING ELSE!

I am beyond proud of how hard she worked to get her degree! I feel like it was a struggle for me, and she did it with a little one! As cliche as it might sound…the sky is the limit. Continue to set a positive example for your baby girl and knock out those goals! We’ve done a horrible job at spending as much time together as we should, but I see you and again – I’m so very, very proud of you! Love you! XO.

Take a look at a few of my faves!

This is my FAAAVE! In fact, I might print and frame this one for my place.;)

Thanks for looking! Peace&Love.

Meet Baby H Newborn Session

I had the pleasure of meeting The H Family and shooting their newborn session a couple of weeks ago. They were such a pleasure to work with from start to finish, and it helps that they look AH-MAZING on camera.  Their baby girl was a dream in all of her newness. She slept throughout most of her session, and actually cried a bit when we took her OFF of the bean bag because we’d finished. That NEVER happens! Here are a few of my favorites from their session. They’re a party of FOUR now!;)LOOOOOVE it when grandparents are around for “picture day”!The sweetest details.

Thanks for looking!

Vanderpool Maternity Shoot

I was pretty excited to hear that The Vanderpool crew is expecting a new addition, and I can’t hide that I was ECSTATIC when Cheryl asked me to shoot their maternity pictures. Since working with their family back in 2013,  I have enjoyed watching their family blossom via FB! It is always an honor and a blessing to be able to “grow” with families. I’ve probably said that here before, but I truly mean it. Anyhow – Enjoy the pictures below!;)

Thanks for looking! XO.

Baby Reich

I WILL BE BLOGGING THIS YEAR. Seriously. I’ve decided that it’s something that needs to be a priority. I find myself looking through photo blogs pretty often in my spare time, and I ALWAYS check out the blog when I know the family in the post. I want my clients to be able to share their blogged sessions with their loved ones.

With that being said…

I’m excited to show off Baby Reich! It’s always pretty amazing getting to see my co-workers in another element. This shoot did NOT feel like work. I felt like I was just catching up with a friend, aaaand I just so happened to snap pictures of her adorable baby. Needless to say, Amanda had the perfect playlist (I wouldn’t expect anything less from a music teacher! Hehe) and Baby Reich slept great for her shoot! Dream baby! I must say that Amanda and Bob are naturals with parenting. It was hard to tell that Baby Reich is their first! She’s one fortunate little baby girl because it’s already so apparent that she’s got awesome parents!

I couldn’t leave without having grandma & grandpa get in a couple of shots with their new granddaughter. She is so loved!:)

The Blog is Baaaack…with The Barnetts!

I’m SOOO excited to be back on my dear old blog. It’s been over a year, and I have photographed so many beautiful families and sweet little babies. As many of you know, I was a full time third grade teacher last year (still teaching – second grade teacher this year ). Something had to give in order for me to keep my sanity…and that something ended up being my blog.

Last school year, I also decided to only accept shoots that I was comfortable with and that happened to be maternity, families, and children. I still found myself reading wedding blogs…….and sobbing. That love for documentation paired with me being a big ball of emotions is what drives me when it comes to photography. I decided to take a class on engagement shoots and weddings this summer. I wanted to challenge myself and really grow as a photographer. For my class, I had an assignment that required me to simply capture the happiness and love between two people. Soooo…I posted a model call. I was so happy with the response to the model call, but ONE response in particular left me soooo excited!

If you’ve ever asked me what drew me to photography or what inspired me to start a business..with no formal training – I probably mentioned The Barnetts. In fact, I wrote about them in my “meet the artist” page on this website (I should probably update that because it’s been a few years now – Hehe!). Christan was a classmate my freshmen year at ASU, and I always admired her. At the time, she was a single mom, and she was always so bubbly and encouraging. I literally didn’t think there was anything she couldn’t do with a smile and style. I watched her become engaged to a guy that she always spoke so highly of, married, and then pregnant with her second baby. Someone posted black and white photos of her newborn  in the hospital, and I just sat at my computer crying my eyes out. I felt a bit silly after a while because we were juuuust classmates, but I felt so moved and so encouraged by her story and her faith. I thought about what a blessing and privilege it would be to freeze/document these MAJOR moments for beautiful families. I reached out to her photographer, and to my surprise she responded with a very detailed email suggesting lenses and several other starter tips. She also suggested shadowing with a photographer and that’s what made me reach out to Craig (the wedding photographer that I used to second shoot with).

Anyway, fast forward 8 or so years – Christan and David have been happily married, and they now have three beautiful children. Prior to their shoot, they had no idea how they inspired my business. Working with them made this shoot so special. It became much more than just an assignment – after all of these years – still in love, still inspiring… and in front of MY camera…finally. It was just what I needed to get back on this blog.

Enjoy! XO.

God bless the couple that dances on demand and looks this good doing it.

This is them giving me…SERIOUS. Haha!

Needless to say, I enjoyed this shoot, and I’m ecstatic about expanding my brand and welcoming couples!

Thanks for looking!;)
